Hi,

I am new to using DICOM Browser. I am using v 1.7.0b5 on Windows 10.

I don’t seem to be able to add an attribute. The pop up box opens and I can enter values but the new Tag does not appear in the list of Tags afterwards. The same happens when I try to apply a script to add new dicom tags.

I have seen that this was already reported back in 2016, but I was just wondering if there is any other fix but to use an old version of DicomBrowser?

Best wishes,

Jan

Hi Jan,

Yes, that’s a known bug in that version of DicomBrowser (I think it’s in all 1.7.0* versions, actually). I actually just started working on a new release of DicomBrowser for the first time in quite some time and have development versions of that ready to go. You can download the appropriate installer from one of the links below:

Currently the auto-updater isn’t working, so you’ll need to install the next version manually (I’ll post a notice on this group when that’s available) but after that it should prompt you to upgrade when an update is available.

And yes, one of the issues fixed in this release is the add new attribute bug!

Thank you very much Rick.
I have tested it and it seems to be working fine on Windows 64bit.

Great, thanks for the info! If anyone else tries it out and has any feedback positive or negative I’d love to hear it. You can email me directly or send to bu...@xnat.org.

Thank you all!

In our clinic patients bring their CDs containing MR images and we need to import those images into our Eclipse planning system. Eclipse would several times refuse to accept those images and we found that it was due to missing tags. We were searching for a good program to edit Dicom headers of all files in a series in one go and someone directed me to Dicom Browser. I was quite disappointed with 1.7.0b.5 version since the tag was not getting added. I found out the reason through this group and installed the latest 1.7.5 and it works fine. All our problems are sorted out.

Thank you for this software!
