Iopened it, and found a bunch of amazing game titles such as: Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda and all other cool games, but I also saw an original copy of the PC version of Angry Birds. It looked old, so I bought it from the woman at the garage sale.
I was having fun playing all the levels; I even got all the birds in this version, and it was the final level in this supposed Chapter. When I shot the final bird at the King Pig, the screen turned black and I heard a scream supposedly from the pig.
When I brightened it, it showed a bunch of dead corpses of the birds. Their flesh looks like it was bitten off. And when I brightened it more, King Pig was there, with flesh and blood still in his mouth.
So May was coming up, and I didn't know what to do. I just simply checked the internet for new Angry Birds games. I went to YouTube, to see if there was any announcements for a Angry Birds game, and boom. There was a new video on Rovio's YouTube channel. I didn't get to see the full title, but part of it said "ANGRY BIRDS 2 OUT NOW". Which I was excited about. I watched the video and there was an pre-alpha for the game, with it saying the pre-alpha is iOS exclusive. I turned on my iPhone 6, and went to the App Store. with the Get button bouncing and flying everywhere instead saying "Tap me to download". I tapped the button after a few failed attempts, and the game started downloading. It took, like, 1 day and 12 hours to completely download, so I just watched some cartoons while waiting.
Then, the game finished downloading. I was really excited to test the game, as I never tested an Alpha before. I tested some betas before, but not alphas. I opened the game, and the Rovio logo appeared. This time, however, it was more crude-looking. The loading screen was VERY imcomplete, too. It was just a black and white screen with a loading bar with the game's logo on top.
Eventually, the menu arrived after what felt like 80 years. Well it was just 1 minute, but still. The main screen also looked crude, and there was just clouds with the Levels, the Birds and the Options. I tapped options, and the game started glitching before I was greeted with it. All it had was to change the music and volume of the game. I turned them all to max, resulting in them becoming complete static. After that, I closed the options screen and tapped Levels to start playing.
When I got into the game, and the first level started with Red saying "Hi there, David." Before I left, I wondered how Red knew my name? I decided to brush it off like I was imagining it. I then tapped a card to choose my bird, And like the menu, everything was crudely-drawn. The bird cards had a background of snow, and all my birds were glitched to 999 million bird power? I was impressed. The birds I had were Red, Blues, Chuck, Bomb and Matilida, I chose Bomb, and I went on with the level.
The cards for choosing your bird was at the top of the screen, and immediately flung Bomb. After that, 1 pig arrived. Bomb immediately exploded and took out that pig, which went to the second stage of the level. The music was changing pitches every second, maybe it was a bug? The pigs on that stage were 2, and they looked more creepy because there eyes were dark, soulless voids, and they had some blood coming out of there mouths, they were stronger too. I flung The Blues only because it was a glass tower and The Blues is good for glass towers, and The Blues took out all of the pigs. Then there was the third stage.
There was a horde of pigs. They were too strong, and one also had a shield. A pig also had an axe, and it killed my bird, and I lost the level. When I did, the screen cut to static, with an image of the axe pig killing my bird. After it was visible, the static sound kept getting louder and louder, until I had to mute my volume, even at 1% volume, it sounded it like it was at 100% volume. The game then crashed, and my phone home screen looked normal. When I tried to relaunch the game, the wallpaper changed to a scary version of Red from Angry Birds, and the game's logo became red. I did it again, and I heard a whisper behind me. After that, I never tested an alpha or beta again.
Looking at the cartoon styled badgers in space suits accompanied by a beefy theme song on the title screen of Gravity Badgers, gave me hope for his title. It looked like an action cartoon from the eighties, the ones that ran on Saturday morning. This feeling quickly went away when the actual game started.
At the end of each chapter I got into boss fights, which seemed promising. An evil badger mounted in a giant robotic device, starts firing lasers at our heroic badger. Defeating him could have been done in so many exciting ways: slinging planets or stars into him, making the evil badger follow the player and crash into the scenery or some explosive for example. Instead, every boss battle consists of avoiding the lasers until his constantly depleting life gauge is empty. Utter disappointment.
The concept of badgers in space suits fighting evil seems promising, but Gravity Badgers ends up being little more than a poor Angry Birds clone. The gameplay is repetitive, without much of a challenge and the visuals feel barren and uninspired. I played my way through the levels without ever feeling good about it. Gamers looking for an interesting physics-based puzzle game for Wii U are better off getting the Angry Birds Trilogy.
Angry Birds is a Finnish action, puzzle, and strategy based media franchise created by Rovio Entertainment, and owned by Sega. The game series focuses on the titular flock of colorful angry birds who try to save their eggs from green-colored pigs. Inspired by the game Crush the Castle,[1] the original game has been praised for its successful combination of fun gameplay, comical style, and low price. Its popularity led to many spin-offs; versions of Angry Birds created for PCs and video game consoles, a market for merchandise featuring its characters, Angry Birds Toons, a televised animated series, and two films; The Angry Birds Movie and its sequel The Angry Birds Movie 2, with a third film currently in production. By January 2014, there had been over 2 billion downloads across all platforms, including both regular and special editions.[2][3]
By July 2015, the series' games had been downloaded more than 3 billion times collectively,[4] making it the most downloaded freemium game series of all time. The original Angry Birds has been called "One of the most mainstream games out right now,"[5] "One of the great runaway hits of 2010",[6] and "The largest mobile app success the world has seen so far".[7] The first main-series video game sequel, Angry Birds 2, was released on 30 July 2015.
The first game in the series was initially released on 11 December 2009 for iOS.[8] At the time, the 2009 swine flu epidemic was in the news, so the staff decided to use pigs as the enemies of the Angry Birds.[9] The company released ports of the game to other touchscreen smartphone operating systems, including Android. In early 2019, all remaining Angry Birds games released before October 2014 (with the exception of Friends) were discontinued and removed from app stores, though Bad Piggies was added back in early 2020. Rovio has declined to explain their reasoning behind the decision apart from a brief tweet and support response, both giving different answers.[10] However, in June 2021, by popular demand of the fans, Rovio announced that the classic games will be available on the stores again sometime in the future.[11] A recreated version of the original Angry Birds game known as Rovio Classics: Angry Birds came to mobile platforms on 31 March 2022.[12]
From 2011 to 17, Angry Birds has collaborated with many other companies and released variations of the game in the respective companies' theme. Most of them were Flash-based. All of the games featured exclusive levels and elements that aid in promotion.
Rovio is investigating ways to expand the Angry Birds brand, including merchandise, television shows and movies. Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio Mobile, has envisioned a feature film in the stop-motion animation style of Aardman Animations, famous for the Wallace and Gromit franchise.[54] To that end, Rovio has purchased a Helsinki-based animation studio to prepare Angry Birds short cartoons on the Nicktoons station's Nickelodeon Extra,[55][56] the first of which was a Christmas special named "Wreck the Halls" that debuted in December 2011.[57] Hed acknowledges that such a film would be years away, and that Rovio must keep the characters relevant until then, by producing sequels or new ports of the original game.[54]
Angry Birds Toons, a TV series based on the game, made its debut on 16 March 2013. Angry Birds Toons is released through third-party video distribution platforms, including Comcast's Xfinity On-Demand in the US, Samsung Smart TVs, and Roku set-top boxes. It is also available in a number of countries on traditional television broadcasts. Angry Birds Toons is available on mobile devices by an additional Angry Birds Toons channel on all of the Angry Birds apps homescreens.[2] DVD version for the TV series was released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The series has a total of 3 seasons.
On 10 March 2017, Rovio released Angry Birds Blues, an animated series based on The Angry Birds Movie. It shows the lives of the Blues having fun, while the Hatchlings were doing random stuff and ruining their plans.
On 1 June 2018, U.S. television production company Big Fish Entertainment announced that they would be partnering with Rovio to create a game show based on Angry Birds currently[when?] called Angry Birds Challenge.[58]
On 9 June 2018, a series titled Angry Birds BirLd Cup was released on YouTube. It follows two teams (Team Red & Team Chuck) of rambunctious kids ready to put their soccer skills to the test. With Everton stars Wayne Rooney, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies, and Cenk Tosun on hand to lend their expertise and officiate the competition, the two teams will go head to head in a series of soccer-centric challenges to earn points. The team that scores the most points will claim the illustrious BirLd Cup, and BirLdwide acclaim.[59]
