Now that MTB is officially the new triathlon we need to get some events on the calendar.

My brother and I have signed up for the Gorrick 100 enduro on 5th May. You can do anything from 1 to 7  ten mile laps. We've signed up for 4 but will probably only do three, apparently that's hard enough! You start two hours sooner if you do four so can get away earlier. But who knows, I'm not adverse to a bit of pain so may find myself doing four laps despite myself.

We've also signed up as a pair for the Brighton Big Dog on 10th August. This is a  local event in Stanmer Park so we need some more Wacky participation.

And on another subject, who's up for the Heroes Run on 19th May? Babs, is Brightonia going to be there? I know what my costume is going to be now, no Pip it's not Super Gran!

Yee haa!

I would be up for the Big Dog.
Need to get a team together though.
Who is up for this?
Matt? Pip? Jon? Tim? Mamma Duck? Danny? Josie?
Jody?

Who else. Roll up peoples. Mountain biking peoples. Its a great excuse to get out there and get some miles in on the trails of the park.

Saturday?

You don't need a team, you just need one more to enter as a pair, that way you get to do more laps yourself.

No way, Dr JC.  I saw how you, Rich, and Neil were dying on Big Dog.  Three of the cycle-fittest wackies - you looked like jelly after each lap!  Fun to watch though - I'll bring the jelly snakes!

Yes bring those jelly snakes Mama Duck, I'm doing it on a retro with rigid forks so I'll need all the support I can get! Maybe a little voddy between laps too?

Ok so I've signed up for the Heroes Run on 19th May. Who's with me?

All you've gotta do is dress up as a superhero and run 10k, simple.

Ok, so I've finally given up hope that I'll be able to do the Heroes
Run. I was hoping for a miraculous recovery but considering I still
can't walk without feeling pain I won't be able to run 10km in ten
days time.

So there's a place going free to whoever wants it; you just have to
russle up a superhero costume for yourself. I've got my race number
through already so you'll need to get that from me.

Online entry is available until the 16th at midnight so you could talk
someone else into doing it with you and go halvesees on the other
ticket. Danny and Josie I'm looking at you two here as you are prime
candidates.

On another, completely random, note, I now offically have two
literature minions in work. So maybe next year I should enter the race
as a supervillain instead.... Mwaahahahahahah....

What's a literature minion, when it's at home?

Well they're minions to do my literary bidding of course.... It's a
work thing.

If no one's interested in the heroes run I'll put it on the Brighton
Tri facebook page.

Paul.
