FTPS or https webdav support in dice player

I've been trying to use ftps to connect to my media library but it appears that there is no support for it in DicePlayer as it always fails to connect. Is this correct or is it possibly because I'm using a self signed ceritficate at present.

I then tried to use WebDAV over https. But when I try to put the scheme of the url to https DicePlayer always inserts http:// in front.

Is this just a broader DicePlayer doesn't support any security?
