These days, there are a lot of different ways to import pictures from a cell phone to a laptop. Some of those methods require just a few touches on a variety of smartphone apps; others are a little more involved. You'll find that the processes are a little different depending on whether you use an Android or iOS smartphone, and whether you're using a Windows or iOS laptop.
If you're using a Windows PC, your phone's USB or charging cable is one of the fastest ways to move a lot of photos quickly to your laptop, and it won't drain your phone's battery in the process. Here's what to do:
For both Android and iOS-based smartphones, there are gobs of free apps related to photo sharing and image transfer, and any number of them will work. And if you just want to quickly send an image or two, you can skip all of these steps and simply send pictures to your laptop via an email app on your phone.

If you find yourself regularly transferring photos from your phone to your computer, you may want to consider using a cloud service. Cloud storage services store your data in "the cloud" (an external server). This is great, because you can then link your computer and multiple devices to your cloud account which allows you to access all of the data at any time, on any device. Thinking about photos specifically, you can set your phone up to store any photos you take in your cloud storage, so that they're not taking up loads of space on your device.
I'm having a problem in that Etsy photos do not translate the same from computer view to mobile app view. What fits and looks great on my computer runs off the edge of Etsy mobile app. What looks great on the mobile app appears tiny on my Etsy shop on the computer. I have compared pics from other shops on my computer and my cell phone app, and they don't seem to be having this problem - their pics are the same on both devices... Any suggestions?
I'm having a little problem understanding the difference between 'Remove from iPhone' vs Download Photos & Videos. I have 8k photos on my iPhone 13 and when I delete any of them I see them being deleted from my photos library. This was great that it showed me how to fix this problem. The "Download Photos & Videos" (in blue writing) does that mean that if I chose that option I have to go to my photos on my mac after deleting each one off my phone to if they are deleting off my phone but staying on my computer? I'm confused.
But what makes me nervous is that all my 7k photos on my phone, is are they going to come off my photos app on my iMac? I notice that (I don't know what I did a few months ago) but every photo and video that is on my iphotos and photos app is on my phone. Its like a mirror. My phone Iphone 13 is less than a year old and full of photos from my imac
I notice that everytime I delete a photo from my phone I see it coming off my "Photos" app right in front of my eyes, even the ones from 2010. I just want my phone clear of those photos and not deleted from(not icloud) but my computer 'Photos app like it was before.
I'm nervous to that when I go to iCloud photos on my phone and turn off 'Sync this phone" and a menu pops up saying,'Remove from iphone (in red text) and at the bottom of that , another choice 'Download Photos & Videos(in blue text) will all those photos from 2010- till now be deleted?
I understand this more clearly now. My nervousness is which on of those chores do I take? If I choose the (red text)does it just take all the photos and videos off my devices and keep them in iCloud so I can delete from my phone safely
If you are looking to transfer your images or any other files from your phone wirelessly, you can simply turn your Bluetooth options on from your PC and then connect via your phone. Most newer computers will have the option for Bluetooth.
I can also view, edit, delete or organize pictures and videos on my laptop using file browsers and video or picture editing programs.Changes are quickly synchronized back to the phone.
I organize pictures and files on my laptop using DigiKam and the file browser.Files are moved from /Inbox directories to the /Documents and /Pictures archive directories. As I do this, the files are synchronized out of my phone (deleted) and copied to their new location on the Nextcloud server.
The /DCIM, /Documents, /Download, /Movies and /Pictures directories on my phonework like inboxes, so they are synchronized in subdirectories under /Inbox on my computer.I process inboxes on my computer by organizing files under the archive directories /Documents and /Pictures.The files get deleted from the phone, but they become accessible for viewing or downloading with Nextcloud.
From my experience, it is more convenience to use dedicated app or software for backup purpose. Firstly, it will display all photos from various apps into one place. Secondly, you can preview and select the photos you want to backup. Lastly, it is also able to connect your phone and the computer via WiFi connection.
Emailing pictures from a smartphone is quite simple. You will normally use two apps, one for the email and one for browsing your gallery of pictures. If you are using an Android phone, you can use the Outlook or Gmail app and the Photos app (or any other photo gallery app that you use to see photos in your phone). If you are using an iPhone, you will be using the Outlook or Mail app and the Photos App.

Data from a severely damaged Android phone can be retrieved best by professional data recovery service providers in their specialized labs. However, there are do-it-yourself tools and techniques that can help you recover photos from a broken phone.
Utilize the AutoPlay feature on your computer to get the photos from your broken Android phone. For this method, the USB slot of your phone should be working, as it requires connecting a USB cable for the purpose. The USB debugging should be enabled so that you can connect the phone to a Windows PC via USB cable.
How do I recover photos or data from a phone that screen is black and charging port is broken but will charge via wireless charger and it will power on do they make an adapter for the head phone jack to be able to connect a phone to PC if not they should if Iphone has an adapter for the port to make it auxiliary then surely Samsung can get in the game
Better yet, there are dedicated services to preserve shots, whether they're from your phone, a digital camera or that film camera you used years ago. Think of those black and white snaps of your grandparents as kids, the silly photos you took on a disposable camera and more. But before you entrust precious memories into any service, make sure to read through the terms of service. Research how the company handles photo retention and what rights you have to the photos once they're on that site. For example, Photobucket has a Bill of Rights for its users.
The backup and sync function should be on by default when you download the app, but you can also turn it on manually in your settings. Either way, you can conveniently manage your Google Photos library from your phone or desktop. Every so often, Google will ask if you want to free up space on your phone by backing up the images to your Google Account, which is accessible through Gmail, as well.
Google Photos is specialized in photo storing and sharing. Once you take photos and turn on Back up &sync, those photos can be synced to Google Photos so that they are accessible on different devices. However, Google officially uncoupled Google Photos from Google Drive. Hence, though your phones can sync Google Photos automatically, the pictures saved on Google Photos cannot display on your PC.
