Hi All -

I followed the instructions on Windows installation very closely and
but ran into issues at the "bundle install --path vendor" step.

The process appears to require a gem (kgio) which apparently is "nix"
only per some posts I found.

I have two questions:
1) Has anyone successfully installed the latest build on Windows? If
yes, please reply back with any special steps you had to take.

2) Is the kgio gem required? If not, I tried to remove it (and also
unicorn which appears to depend on it), but it still complains about
not being able to kgio.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

we run unicorn, which is UNIX dependent. I suggest you remove unicorn
line from the Gemfile, remove your gemset, rebundle, and run diaspora
using the Thin web server (which should also be in the Gemfile)

hope this helps...

Thanks Daniel!  I got past the kgio issue (by removing the unicorn line from Gemfile then doing a "bundle install --path vendor" as you suggested).

I'm moving to supsequent steps in the Windows installation...
