Next image doesn't appear during effekt

Hey,
sometimes (and i mean not everytime :-)) the next picture doesn't
appear until the effekt is done.
So during the effekt the picture underneath remains the same as the
current one.
then after the effect it just switches to the next picture without any
effect.
Any help would be appreciated.
