I'm stunned but thrilled. I need call recording for work (and to catch my brother in his stupid lies), so I was bummed when Google discontinued it. I kept ACR on my S9+ and could only use it with the speaker on, which wasn't optimal (especially in public). I just set up my Note 10+ and ACR repopulated through SmartSwitch. I haven't looked at it until now and I assumed the recordings would only have my voice. WRONG! It works perfectly like before and now all is right with the world. Happy Birthday to Me!
Been on a never ending loop of calling Shoretell, wait 2 hours or so before I speak to someone (sometimes call disconnects after all the wait), only to be told to reboot and collect logs, reinstall and collect logs, now being told to "install latest version" and collect log without even sharing the link to the latest version.
First two months was back and forth with Shoretel since there's a third party software that grabs the recordings and gives the client a web interface for reviewing calls. Since we're now using script to make copies of the recording to a different folder for the other software as well as track file changes in the shoretel folder, it has become obvious the issue is with shoretel not recording all calls.
It takes days to hear back when I update the ticket, takes hours to speak to someone on the phone and one out of 5 times I call, something happens after 2 or so hours of waiting on the phone. On Friday I finally got through and I could hear the tech but he couldn't hear me.. This never happens with any other calls.
Has anyone ever come across something like this?
All calls are set to be recorded, they don't need to press a button to start recording and we don't have any users or groups we've set to not record. It just seems random and I'm not getting anywhere with support. At this point, if I had a say, I'd be working on migrating to a different service.
Since my last update I ended up reaching out to Blue Butler support, Blue Butler is the third party software they use for indexing and managing the recordings.
After looking into the shoretel logs, they were able to figure out that the remaining scenarios for calls not being recorded were just calls that had been transferred.
This was fixed by unchecking persistent recording on the call recorder settings.
Persistent recording continues recording after you've transferred call to someone, at the end of the day, there's only one recording for the person that initially received the call, but if it got transferred to several people, there won't be any recording for them. When they look at the recordings as they were indexed, it shows the recording for the first person as well as the actual duration of the call before it was transferred, but when you listen to it, the recording turns out to be longer. If I had listened to the recordings myself, I would have known sooner.
Other calls that don't record as far as I know are Analog calls and Calls to numbers that are not assigned, so you have to assign them using NDIS assignment back to the main auto attendant till someone new comes along.
as suggested i would upgrade to the latest version of the call recording software. usually this will fix it. Seem like something is not started. Check if the call recording services is started. Did you make any changes or update that you know of that this started to happen?
So, Since my last update, I've gone back and informed Shoretel we've done the software update and there was no improvement.
They connected, troubleshoot some more (as they've done in the past), then suggested upgrading the HQ server CPU. The call recorder server is a separate server though.. I added more cores as recommended, as well as more RAM, just to be sure. This didn't make any difference. So I went back again and now being told to move the call recorder to the same server as the HQ we just upgraded. Scheduled that for Wednesday now.
Hi, I was SO pleased to see GrapheneOS now includes a call recorder. I can finally get rid of horrible spammy call recorder apps! It took me months, testing over 12 of them, to find one that worked (CubeACR) and it recorded all calls automatically except friends and family. It was great, functionally speaking, but I never liked having it on my phone, but it's essential I record calls.
Graphene's recorder is superior in sound quality, and works via speaker or bluetooth which NO other app I have tried does! It's fantastic. There is one way to make it a smidgen better, that's to record calls automatically. Is there any plan to make this possible at any point?
yourmother It is a button in the in-call UI when making phone calls with the default phone app. For most users it is one of the 6 buttons shown. In case it is not for you, swipe up from the middle of the screen, and then the call record button will be shown.

treequell for some reason mine has the RTT button listed in the 6 icons, so I always have to scroll down to see the call recorder option. Even though RTT is completely disabled, I have no way to make the damn button for it go away.
Call recording still doesn't work for me yet although when I make a call three way the option will show up. Or if I use Cheogram number then the option is displayed. Hopefully with an automatic call record option it will work in the future for all me calls
I have Call Recorder ACR app on my mobile phone. I've linked to Dropbox to store my phone recordings. They appear in Dropbox after each call but I can't get them to play on Windows Media Play although it supposedly supports 3GP and MP4, both of which I've tried. Any suggestions?
I'm after a recommendation for a device that can connect between an iPhone (USB C) and headphones (Thunderbolt or USB C) and record phone calls. Been searching for a while and the only things I can find are either dictaphones to record an in-person conversation, or services & apps that requires the call to be routed through a third-party service. Since we would be using this in a professional setting, and would use it for both outgoing and incoming call, a third-party service is not possible.
In my mind there must be a simple device that can record phone calls by being connected between the iPhone and the headset, and that has battery for at least 8 hours. Any recommendations are more than welcome.
Hmm, please keep in mind that in Germany and probably in most european countries it is illegal to record a call. Exceptions are companies which tell you in advance about this issue, usually offer an opt-in (but opt-out is also legal if it is possible to opt-out prior to the recording).
Ok, thanks. But I would be very careful with such acts and use it only for calls where both parties live and stay in countries where it is explicitely allowed. In Germany such an act is not just illegal, but a major crime.
