If you are experiencing issues with messenger and cannot send stickers, load stickers, or anything involving stickers is causing your app to just stop functioning altogether (like mine), BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE, Click the little pencil button in the top right, set it to encrypted (make sure the little lock thing in the corner is on) and compose a new message to literally anyone. You should see the stickers functioning properly in this new chat window and should also now function properly if you navigate back to your other chats.
EDIT: Thanks to u/Tangeirine for offering an alternative fix further in the comments; if the mods see their comment I would like to request it to be pinned to the top for helpfulness. _not_working_for_facebook_messenger/hu9b4v5?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
Are there any apps which let you make custom sticker packs to use in Facebook Messenger? I've had a look at a couple of the "Apps for Messenger" but I can't see any which let me use gifs and such as stickers.
I want to use the new Google Messenger stickers and the Google Emoji in FB. Attaching an image isn't really a good alternative as it messes with the "See Shared Photos" feature (and I send stickers fairly frequently so it'll clutter up the stream). Additionally if the image is too small it gets stretched out and pixelated.
Facebook stickers are much like emojis in that they are visual ways to express how you're feeling, or they depict a particular object or scene. Some stickers feature characters from movies or TV shows, while others are people or animals from different artists.
The term "sticker" is perhaps a bit deceiving. These aren't physical stickers, nor can you stick them wherever you want on Facebook. However, much like real stickers, they are usually bold and colorful.
When you open the sticker interface, it will open by default on the Search tab. You can use the Search stickers text field to look for specific stickers. Search either by the name of the sticker pack or the emotion represented by the sticker.
The other icons represent the sticker packs. Click one of the icons to browse the stickers within that pack. If you have multiple packs, you will see an arrow icon that you can click to scroll.
When adding a photo to a post, you can customize it with stickers. You can only do this when sharing the post. To do so, click Photo/Video, then upload a photo. Next, hover over the photo and click the pencil icon. Then, on the left pane, click Stickers > Add Sticker.
It's simple to add more stickers to your collection. There are hundreds of different sticker packs available, which are just a collection of stickers under a common theme or brand (like Lunar New Year or The Avengers). Each pack usually contains around 20 stickers.
Here you can browse all of the packs available for download. Click Preview to see all the stickers in the pack. Click Free to add the sticker pack to your collection. It can then be used immediately.
You can't disable the Facebook stickers feature entirely. The only thing you can do is remove sticker packs that you have added to your collection. Note that this will remove every single sticker in that pack---you can't remove an individual sticker.
You might come across apps on the Android and iOS stores that claim to expand your sticker selection on Facebook. While Facebook has partnered with external apps in the past to provide sticker packs, the company no longer does. The best way to acquire new stickers is just to use the Sticker Store on Facebook.
Less than a week after Meta unveiled AI-generated stickers in its Facebook Messenger app, users are already abusing it to create awkward images of copyright-protected characters and sharing the results on social media, reports VentureBeat. In particular, an artist named Pier-Olivier Desbiens posted a series of virtual stickers that went viral on X on Tuesday, starting a thread of similarly offbeat AI image generations shared by others.
"Found out that facebook messenger has ai generated stickers now and I don't think anyone involved has thought anything through," Desbiens wrote in his post. "We really do live in the stupidest future imaginable," he added in a reply.
Available to some users on a limited basis, the new AI stickers feature allows people to create AI-generated simulated sticker images from text-based descriptions in both Facebook Messenger and Instagram Messenger. The stickers are then shared in chats, similar to emojis. Meta uses its new Emu image synthesis model to create them and has implemented filters to catch what might be potentially offensive generations for some people. But plenty of novel combinations are slipping through the cracks.
Over the past year, it has been common for companies to beta-test generative AI systems through public access, which has brought us doozies like Meta's flawed Galactica model last November and the unhinged early version of the Bing Chat AI model. If past instances are any indication, when something odd gets wide attention, the developer typically reacts by either taking it down or strengthening built-in filters. So will Meta pull the AI stickers feature or simply clamp down by adding more words and phrases to its keyword filter?
Facebook already launched similar stickers and profile frames in its main app late last week, when it also announced a broader initiative to encourage vaccine take-up by showing which of your friends has used the stickers in their posts.
If used strategically, Interactive Story stickers will not only enhance your Story content, they can also help generate new leads, improve engagement, and increase sales and web site traffic. Brands can also track the effectiveness of every interactive Facebook Story sticker and use the analytics to help their business.
2. You can also post Facebook Stories from the desktop by clicking on your profile picture with the blue plus (+) sign on your page. However, you will not be able to access any of the Story stickers or other decorative features.
3. Last but not least, you can share your Instagram Story to your Facebook Story. Look for the small, white Facebook icon on the bottom right corner, which shows up when you view the Story you just posted on Instagram. Forewarning, by using this method, most of your Instagram Story stickers will not translate over onto Facebook. This means that your audience cannot interact with most Instagram stickers on Facebook.
After you capture a photo, video, boomerang, or upload content from your phone, you can scroll up or click on the Story icon to add the interactive stickers. Tap on the sticker to change its color and look.
