My team has used a sheet twice now, but a different sheet each time.
Immediately after our first retro, I printed the sheet for the next
retro and had it in our open area and began to capture significant
events on the timeline. This enabled us to have the timeline already
seeded to spark discussion instead of trying to remember what had
happened - even tho we're using two-week sprints, a lot is happening!

I can also see this as a way to note events that build comraderie,
such as someone earning a certification or moving into a new house
during that sprint.

We didn't interpret the zig zag as up and down, it merely provided
more white space on alternating sides to capture notes.

We've used the sheets for two retros ( a different one each time).
Immediately after the first one, I printed the sheet for the next one
an hung it in our area. When something significant happened, I noted
it on the timeline, so that during the retro, the sheet would already
be seeded with events. I plan to also note on the timeline events
that, while not exactly related to that iteration or sprint, are
worthy of note and group celebration; e.g.,someone achieving a
certification or having a baby.

Terry,
I really like the idea of hanging the sheet in the team area and
marking the time-line as the sprint progresses. I've not tried it
before, or heard of anyone else doing it and will certainly suggest it
in future.

Thanks for sharing,
