Dialogflow api detect intent not working

I created a dialogflow agent and have been working with dialogflow api in python for quite a while now on my mac. When i started working on windows, this issue appeared. Basically my code executes until it reaches the line:

response = session_client.detect_intent(session=session, query_input=query_input)

It doesn't throw an error or exits. It's just stuck there and based on my agent's history, no request is being sent. I have no idea if it's an os problem or something else is missing.
