Start your adventure behind the wheel, but don't forget to stretch your legs on the trails. Hike to one of many overlooks, where you can spot bison, elk, bears, wolves, pelicans and waterfowl. Visit the Eagle Aviary, home to bald eagles and whooping cranes or come on down to Prairie Dog Town adjacent to the Visitor Center, which is home in close proximity to our small mammal and birds exhibits
First stop, the Visitor Center. Start or end your adventure here with a bite to eat, some merchandise to remember your trip or ask about our membership program. Visitors can also discover reptiles and amphibians or walk right outside to see our small mammals and raptors. Public restrooms are located here, as well as in the parking lot.
Embark on your next outdoor adventure with a Wildlife Safari Park membership, good for one year from date of purchase. Wildlife Safari Park is open April through October and with your membership, the whole family can come along: up to two adults from one household and up to six dependent children, ages 0-20, at same address OR up to six grandchildren, also ages 0-20, will be covered for each visit.
Our Park has been referred to as a jewel in the North American Midwest. We have also been listed as a top 10 destination to visit in Illinois. Located just outside of Peoria, IL, this 1,800-acre zoological park is home to 60 different species and over 180 animals that are or were all native to the area. Our guests come to learn about and see wolves, bison, waterfowl, black bears, elk, otters, badgers, snakes, bobcats and more!
Join members of our Animal Care Team as you hike Park trails to learn about our local flora and fauna. Making observations with iNaturalist during the hikes is highly encouraged!
Participants should bring water and dress for the weather, including layers and proper footwear for hiking (close-toed shoes, boots, tennis shoes, etc.). We also suggest hand held snacks, and trekking poles or hiking staffs if needed.

The park also features a variety of captive animals such as alligators, black bears, red wolf, Key deer, flamingos, whooping cranes and the oldest hippopotamus in captivity. When you walk through the front gate at Timbavati Wildlife Park and pass the ticket booth you land right in the middle of the Waterfalls Area. This area is home to a lot of fowl. From our lesser flamingos to our beautiful black swans, we know feathers.
You may hear the nursery buildings. The nurseries are teeming with all manners of new additions. Baby kangaroos to small reptiles, the nurseries have a lot of really cool little critters to see. Fennec foxes, owl monkeys and cotton top tamarins are just examples of those that hang out in the nursery area.
