I am a user of windows 10 and I am using the WD backup for a long time. but from the last week I tried a alot to perform backup on my PC but I am unable to do that.I have also checked Microsoft Support Canada to know about this.I have performed all the guidelines and also tried to contact with your technical department. So may I know any solution of this problem??
Delete the .schedule file for each backup. Most people probably have just one file to delete, but there is one .schedule file for each backup you have setup. Deleting this file will not delete your backup schedule, a new .schedule file will be created when you open the interface via the tray icon or starting the program.
i have been cursing WD all day today - wasted a day of my life. This fix worked - I just need to remember where to find this file in future.
Just remember that the App data file is typically now a hidden file in windows 10 so you need to view hidden files.
I was browsing through my environment the other day (Windows 2003 Master, NBU 7.01) and noticed that about half of my clients now have the WOFB "feature" turned on. This is showing up for both Windows and Linux clients, which is really odd. Was there a point when this was turned on as part of an install? Do most of you use WOFB? Is there a best practice for it? I did notice that WOFB and encryption don't play well together either. Any help would be appreciated.
Yes that correct , to backup any open file you need to configure WOFB option . for Windows 2003 and below servers by defualt NBU uses veritas open file backup option i.e. Veritas volume snapshot provider (VSP) . Even if you configure or not by default NBU uses VSP to backup windows open file.
And also in VSP to create shadow copies it will occupy space in boot volume , some times it wont clear the shadow copies properly due to which your boot volume will face space crunch issue. In many of the cases you need to restart your machine to clear that space.
Client names in Host Properties -> Master Server -> Client Attributes do not exist by default. They have to be added manually. If Lunux clients have been added here, the WOFB settings will have no effect on Unix/Linux clients.
If I was to guess it seems the version of the backups files are not the same as the program being used. But without more details it is hard to say. If the application was v10 then was upgraded to v11 the chain would be updated so reading from v10 is not possible. But again this is a guess.
Chris is likely right here. The version of v11 you have is pre v11a and will include support for Veeam Agent for windows 5.0.0, the latest version is 5.0.2. V11a included support for 5.0.1 and then a subsequent cumulative update added support for 5.0.2.
