Youth Exchanges build peace |
![Blog post]()
Sadie Rose
Zavgren believes that if every person went on a youth exchange, there would be world peace. Read a Rotary Voices post by Sadie, a Rotary Youth Exchange student from the
United States to Thailand who delivered a speech during the Youth Exchange Officers Preconvention Meeting in Bangkok in May. For more on the YEO
Preconvention Meeting, download presentations from SlideShare and

New way to connect
with past exchange students |
It’s not always easy to keep up with participants after their exchanges are over. Now, you can help past exchange students from your
district remain connected to Rotary by sharing the new Rotary
Program Participation Survey. The survey is intended for alumni of New Generations and Rotary Foundation programs. The results will help RI
explore generational and regional trends in program participation. So help spread the word! |
Incredible India |
![India video]()
During his three-week New
Generations Exchange trip, Helge Eisenberg videotaped his impressions of life in India, including colorful street scenes, elaborate temples, and
people going about their daily routines. Watch his evocative
video. |
Reminder: Submit
inbound student data |
RI policy
requires that districts submit information for each inbound student at the beginning of an exchange or shortly after the student’s arrival. This
applies to all long-term, short-term, and New Generations exchanges. Districts can send the information in the format most convenient for them
— Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word documents, or scanned copies of guarantee forms — as long as the information is complete and legible.
The following must be included: - Exchange type
- Student name and contact details in home country
- Gender
- Date of
birth
- Emergency contact information
- Sponsor district
- Host district
- Host club
- Host parent contact details (if
applicable)
- Host counselor contact information (if applicable)
Please submit student data for planned exchanges for the 2012-13
year and work with your partner districts to ensure that they do the same. Contact youthe...@rotary.org with questions. |
Our newest certified districts |
Congratulations to District 4460 (Northern Peru), which has been

Do you have the latest Youth Exchange
directory? |
The Youth Exchange
directory is updated and emailed out quarterly, but the current version can be downloaded anytime from the Youth Exchange workgroup site. All district
and multidistrict chairs can visit the site by clicking on the Rotary Workgroups tab on their Member Access profile. Note: In order to sign in, district and
multidistrict chairs must use the same email address they used when they registered for a Member Access account. If you help administer
exchanges and do not have the most recent directory, contact your district or multidistrict chair. |
Have policy questions? |
Get answers in the Rotary Code of Policies (PDF in English). Please note that the
section pertaining to Rotary Youth Exchange has a new number (41.060). Other relevant sections include Youth Protection (2.110) and District Finances
(17.060). Translated versions of these sections are available on the Rotary Youth Exchange Workgroup site, which district and multidistrict
chairs can visit by logging on to Member Access or by emailing
youthe...@rotary.org. |
