Future Vision LinkedIn group open to all | District trainers are encouraged to join
the Future Vision LinkedIn group, which is now open to all
interested Rotarians, including those in nonpilot districts. Learn about the experiences of pilot districts, share ideas, and prepare to train club
leaders to use the new grant structure.
|
District assembly | Club presidents-elect and other incoming members of
club leadership teams will attend their district assembly, held
in April and May. The event helps new club leaders, including secretaries, treasurers, and committee chairs, develop their leadership skills, and
gives them the opportunity to meet the district leaders who will support their efforts. Participants are encouraged to read the appropriate
manual before the meeting so they will be prepared to discuss their duties and goals for the coming year. Manuals in the Club Officers’ Kit
(225) include: At the assembly, incoming
club leadership teams should use the Planning Guide for Effective
Rotary Clubs for developing their annual goals. |
April is Magazine Month | Plan club meetings and activities to observe Magazine Month
in April. Encourage club members to promote your Rotary regional
magazine, The Rotarian, and RVM: Rotary Video Magazine. Discuss how to use these
resources for project ideas, to recruit new members, and to renew excitement about Rotary.

Training tip |
As a way to emphasize the skills, knowledge, and experiences of your
participants, consider doing this “combined wisdom” icebreaker from trainerbubble.com:
On a flip chart at
the front of the room, list each participant’s years of experience, and add up the numbers. Then, when talking about
the key challenges facing the group in regard to the training or the topic to be discussed refer to the group’s combined years of experience and
shared wisdom. Begin to test their ability to respond to the challenges. Refer to this number throughout the session as you
develop action suggestions for participants to take away.
