DHS/Sugar Creek Gardeners:

We will have a garden work day this Saturday, February 28th from 9:00-12:00.  We will number the garden plots and have a lottery system to assign plot holders to the plots.  The following people have signed up for plots and will have their names put in the hat.  You must have a signed contract and a Wylde Center membership to have a plot.  (For those of you that need to do this, please do it by Saturday).  If you are not on this list and think you should be, let me know.

Daniel, Howard and I discussed possibly renting a Bobcat to help transfer soil from the old garden to the new.
I called Bobcat of Atlanta and described our task.
Austin Graham is who I talked to, austin...@bobcatofatlanta.com
He recommended a t450 track loader, which has a 17.3 gallon tank, running diesel fuel. The bucket is 56 inches wide.
To deliver the machine to us on a Friday afternoon and pick it up on a Monday morning would cost us $520, not including fuel.  We would figure about a tank.
The machine has a meter and we'd be able to use it for 12 hours.

I am unsure of how this compares with whatever specs anyone else is finding on buying dirt already delivered, and this would be something that we'd have to do ourselves.
We'd need a bunch of volunteers at Sugar Creek to download the dirt, and could probably use extra trucks to get this done,.

Not sure if this is a viable option, but wanted to let you know what I found out.

Oh, to rent the equipment, somebody would have to show up, give them a credit card and be responsible for the equipment. That would probably need to be Daniel?
