All of our Canon drivers do not, however, and this means we need to go to each user and put in administrator credentials in order for them to make a (new) printer connection to our Canon imageRunners...
Same issue here, We have lexmark's and Canon's we pushed the win updates for July on the 21st, Came in Monday morning to find all the canon's were gone. Manualy mapped them on about 2 dozen just to relize we had the GP on replace, it deleted all of them that we bandaid'd. About to rollback the windows updates that were fixing the 20 year old bug. Couldn't beleive lexmark drivers worked over Canon's. SMH!
If i understand U correctly, only setting GPO "Computer settings/administrative templates/printers/point and print restrictions" to disabled will not solve the problem, you will have to specify the settings in the policy to make it work?

I recently purchased a G5020 printer and cannot install the driver. I am running Windows 11 and have executed all the following steps using "run as administrator" as well as logging in the admin account itself, using a clean reboot, and finally disabling certificate checks; rebooting between each effort, all to no avail. The driver Windows decided to install does not provide sufficient features to effectively use the printer. I require a native and functional driver that will install without errors.
I have also tried installing the driver file(s) directly via Widows Update and manually browsing directly to the file G50006.inf several times, always ending in failure stating "certificate revocation by issuer."

Thanks for the tip. I did that first. Running Win11 and downloaded the latest from the Canon website. Am quite familiar with technology and usually start with "is it plugged in" knowing many times the simplest solution is the one. This one however is a real head scratcher. I have installed other devices successfully so I believe it is the Canon driver or installer, particularly since when trying to install the driver file alone, I got a certificate revocation error, which could be the problem in the installation software which likely does not interpret the error precisely.

After the tech had me execute all the steps I described earlier in this thread with the same results, he said "it is recommended that either your computer manufacturer and/or Microsoft is contacted for further assistance," despite the fact I have since installed other drivers and the Canon driver is the only one I have a problem with. I believe all I need is a G5020 Canon driver file with a good certificate. I am at a loss for the moment and not sure what the next step will be, though I may try to contact MS again.
I recently purchased a PIXMA G620, primarily for the MegaTank feature and the positive reviews on photo print quality (this replaces a broken Epson Artisan 50). However, when I installed it on my MacBook Pro (USB), I found that the printer driver was unexpectedly bare-bones with respect to features - especially when compared with the Windows driver for this printer. The Windows driver enables several features that are especially useful for photo printing, including grayscale, control of the borderless overprinting amount, ability to tweak individual colors, and access to maintenance functions like nozzle cleaning and test page printing. On the Mac some of these features are not available at all, and others are only available through the "Remote UI" web interface - which is disappointing and challenging to the ease of use and capabilities of the printer on Mac - especially for photo printing, which is my primary use case.
