but:

I don't understand how a "distributed" organization can be disbanded
or dissolved. If it is truly distributed, the most you can personally
do is drop out of it. It would be like trying to stop a Bittorrent
file from being downloaded by insisting to people that they must stop.

And I claim dibs on the "official mascot" officer position, with the
usual salary and benefits.

No.

Purely from the requirement from having 2 signatures from members on a membership application.  I think i 30 day probation period or something similar seems better.

-Mike

Section 1.1 - Membership

Regular members must have two signatures from members on a completed membership
application and be current on their DHMN dues payment.

Limited members must be current on their DHMN dues payments.

I make a dhmn virtual motion that Erin QL be the dhmn treasurer pro tem until such time as formal elections are held for a dhmn treasurer per the recently approved dhmn bylaws. Is there a virtual second to this motion?

Dang, I wish I would have thought of this before yesterday, but I'm
not sure it's a bylaw issue exactly.

Can we make provisions for reduced membership fees for those members
on a restricted income, or unemployed? Like a sliding membership fee
for those members who really can't afford the full membership, but
still want to participate.

The size of the dues haven't been set in the by-lays. Only that they are lower for limited membership. So, I too am in favor of low limited membership dues.

I suggest that for those who cannot afford regular membership, your participation is appreciated and continues to be just as critical to our growth and success.  I suggest we don't  need to measure it beyond what is already in the bylaws.  When the time comes, we will all know that a change is needed.  In the mean time, no pressure!
