Hi all,

I am so sorry about missing the meeting today— unfortunately, a private matter arose unexpectedly, and I was unable to make it to the meeting or email in advance, as I didn’t have cell service. It was all hands on deck this morning, but I’m finally catching my breath!

Here are the updates I wanted to share at the meeting:

1.  I will be sending out a document by the end of today for members to sign up to moderate the different sections of the DHI. As we need volunteers for each section, your participation would be greatly appreciated! ❤️

2. In the meantime, please take a moment to check out the updated website, which now includes the institute schedule.

3. Also, I’d appreciate it if you could help spread the word about the upcoming event by sharing the link on your LinkedIn or other social platforms! Here’s the registration link: dhi25.eventbrite.com

Stay tuned for another email later this evening with more information and the sign-up document I mentioned. Thanks again for your understanding, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused. I appreciate you all!

Best,
Emma

Hi all,

Good evening! Apologies again about the meeting earlier today.

Here is the information for signing up to moderate the Digital Humanities Institute. Please review the instructions and schedule, and then select your session to moderate by this Friday, March 14, 2025. Next week, I will review the moderator list, and I will reach out if we need additional moderators. Thank you!

Document Link: Moderator Sign-up
Instructions (also on document):

  • Overview: For each session each day, we will need a moderator. Some sessions are longer than others, so please be aware of the time frame(s) you’d like to moderate. On any session over two hours, let’s have two moderators so that the workload is evenly distributed.

    • Advisors and Executives: If you are a member of our advisory board or executive board, you should moderate at least one session if possible.

  • How to sign up: Please review the schedule. Pick a session you are most interested in, and type your name and email address into the yellow highlighted area next to the session header. If you are moderating a longer session with two moderators, be sure to coordinate with the other person ahead of time regarding logistics.

  • Your role as moderator:1) For the section(s) you’d like to moderate, please view their abstract (linked for each session). 2) On the day of the conference, you will introduce each panel within your session as they occur and make sure that each panel in the session stays within their allotted time frame (including Q&A moderation). 3) Please provide the name of the talk, some key details on the abstract, and speakers/affiliations during the introduction.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for your support!

Best,
Emma, on behalf of the DHC-NC Executive Board
