Ed Epperson

Dear Sangha,

Ed Epperson died this morning and his wife Mary wanted me to let everyone know.  Ed has been a devoted member of our sangha for at least 14 years. 

We will have a service tomorrow with and for Ed beginning during our regular Sunday practice time at 10 am tomorrow, July 13,  at Ed and Mary's home on 5814 Abilene Trail (just down the street from our regular meeting house).  Ed and Mary have been doing research for a long time now to be able to have Ed stay at home for a day or so before being driven to the funeral home for cremation. They have worked with a local funeral home to make this happen. 

We are still working out the details of the service. We hope to have our meditation practice begin at 10 a.m. so please arrive a little early if you want to join for that.  We will meditate for a while and then have  time to be with Ed, comfort each other and hopefully share stories.  We hope to have a reception afterwards so if you are able to bring some food to share, please do so.  I'm sure there will be an abundance of food so no need to bring anything if that isn't convenient. 

There will also be visitation at the house today and tomorrow. I am not sure yet what times Mary has designated for that.  I am going over this morning to see what needs to be done and hopefully hang out for a bit to give Mary a chance to get some sleep. If you are interested in helping keep Ed company for today and tomorrow and helping with the logistics of receiving those who are coming to pay their respects, please let me know (512-705-5509).
