Hello Sangha,

I've been sharing about our dear friend Shaymaa since the war in Gaza began, now as you know things are terrible and I need everyone's help in broadcasting our need...

We need a hospital to sign a template letter and add their logo. That's it. For some reason after many months of trying we do not have a hospital who has signed the letter and we are told that is the LAST piece that the Israeli government needs to complete our medical evacuation paperwork. COGAT (Israeli government) has approved her visa after seeing our well organized team and cache of files and documents, but this is the last piece of the puzzle.

Do you know a hospital administrator? Or a physician or board member that has enough clout to convince any hospital in the country to take her in and treat injuries to her leg and hand? If so please consider passing on the email below to that person, with the attached links.

The email below, the attached links and this GoFundMe should be all you need to start an initial conversation with your person. Then, if it looks like a possibility they are willing to connect with their hospital decision-makers, Team Shaymaa can meet with them to prep them and answer any questions.

Thanks in advance for thinking about people you might know, or sending this to a wider network... we just don't know how far this goodwill will spread.

If you don't know anyone, please consider a donation.

Many blessings,

Jodi, Don, Claire, Seja, Shelly, John, and others in Team Shaymaa

Dear ____,

I’m reaching out with deep humility and urgency to ask if you might help us connect with a physician, board member, or administrator at any U.S. hospital who could assist with a final, critical step in saving the life of a courageous 19-year-old survivor from Gaza named Shaymaa Abudalu.

Shaymaa’s story is harrowing: in March of 2024, an Israeli airstrike killed nearly her entire family. She was trapped under the rubble with her deceased loved ones for hours, suffering severe physical and emotional trauma. Her leg injuries remain unresolved due to the lack of advanced medical care in Gaza. Her survival, and full recoverynow depends on a medical evacuation already in process.

We’ve assembled a strong coalition of supporters and secured the necessary visas and funding. The only remaining requirement is a letter from a U.S. hospital on official letterhead confirming they will evaluate and treat her. This letter is required by the U.S. Embassy in Amman to complete Shaymaa’s medical evacuation.

We have attached:

This is an opportunity not only to save one lifebut to uphold a value shared across our traditions. As the Qur’an says: “Whoever saves a life, it is as if they saved all of humanity” (5:32). The Talmud echoes: “Whoever saves a single life is considered to have saved an entire world” (Sanhedrin 37a).

Would you be willing to connect us with someone who may be able to help?

With gratitude and hope,

(your name)
