Dear ____,
I’m reaching out with deep humility and urgency to ask if you might help us connect with a physician, board member, or administrator at any U.S. hospital who could assist with a final, critical step in saving the life of a courageous 19-year-old survivor from Gaza named Shaymaa Abudalu.
Shaymaa’s story is harrowing: in March of 2024, an Israeli airstrike killed nearly her entire family. She was trapped under the rubble with her deceased loved ones for hours, suffering severe physical and emotional trauma. Her leg injuries remain unresolved due to the lack of advanced medical care in Gaza. Her survival, and full recovery, now depends on a medical evacuation already in process.
We’ve assembled a strong coalition of supporters and secured the necessary visas and funding. The only remaining requirement is a letter from a U.S. hospital on official letterhead confirming they will evaluate and treat her. This letter is required by the U.S. Embassy in Amman to complete Shaymaa’s medical evacuation.
We have attached:
This is an opportunity not only to save one life, but to uphold a value shared across our traditions. As the Qur’an says: “Whoever saves a life, it is as if they saved all of humanity” (5:32). The Talmud echoes: “Whoever saves a single life is considered to have saved an entire world” (Sanhedrin 37a).
Would you be willing to connect us with someone who may be able to help?
With gratitude and hope,
(your name)
