Warm greetings, dear Venerable monastics & Dhamma friends -

You are warmly welcome and invited to join us on Sunday March 28th for the final closing Full Moon Uposatha morning Refuges & Precepts and evening Meditation & Dhamma program of our winter retreat with Ven. Tathālokā Theri, Ven. Sucittā Theri, the Dhammadharini monastic community and friends of Dhammadharini.

This is the FINAL Winter Retreat Uposatha Dhamma program hosted by Dhammadharini (no. 6 of 6). All are welcome. Please note, this program will be hosted by Dhammadharini Monastery with it's good wifiInfo/registration (you do not need to register again if you've registered for the program previously, or if you will join via Youtube livestream).

The March Full Moon Uposatha is known in Sri Lanka as Medin Poya. This full moon is remembered as the lunar anniversary of the Buddha's first return home to Kapilavastu after his great awakening. It is the lunar anniversary of the stream-entry of his foster mother, our founding bhikkhuni, Mahapajapati Gotami Theri, of his wife Yasodhara's undertaking the Refuges & Precepts, and of his son Rahula's joining him in monastic life.

Good Dhamma for all of us!

The Stream-Entry of Mahāpajāpatī Gotamī

 "Rise up! Do not be heedless!
In the Dhamma faring, fare ye well!
Happy are those who fare in Dhamma,
in this world and beyond."

Uttiṭṭhe nappamajjeyya, dhammaṃ sucaritaṃ care;
Dhammacārī sukhaṃ seti, asmiṃ loke paramhi ca.

"Well-faring are those who fare in Dhamma,
not those who fare not well.
Happy are those who fare in Dhamma,
in this world and beyond."

Dhammañcare sucaritaṁ na taṁ duccaritaṁ care
Dhammacārī sukhaṁ seti asmiṁ loke paramhi ca’ti.

-- Dhammapāda vv 168-169
