Greetings Dhamma friends!
We welcome you to join the Dhammadharini community in-person on
Sunday May 19th at Dhammadharini Monastery in celebration of Vesak.
We welcome friends to visit the monastery, share in a meal, and meet with our monastics for blessings & Dhamma sharing in celebration of Vesak -- honoring the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and final Nirvana (Parinibbāna).
The event will be held outdoors in the lovely garden dana sala pavilion, and most of the day will be in-person only. The morning guided meditation and Q&A (from 9am - 10am) will be a hybrid program, welcoming in-person participants as well as being broadcast on Zoom.
Here is the planned schedule for the day:
9:00: Meditation and Dhamma Q&A Program (in-person, or register here to receive the Zoom link and join online)
10:30am: Setup for meal dana
11:15am: Rice Pindapat & Meal dana offering to Sangha
12:15pm: Community time with monastics
1:00pm: Vesak Dhamma program
2:30pm: Community time with monastics & help with cleanup
Please feel welcome to drop by for any portion of the day.
You may bring a dish to share to contribute to the dana meal offering and lunch for everyone. Disposable plates and utensils will be provided, but you can help the event be more green by bringing your own container and utensils to use for lunch.
You may park mindfully in the monastery neighborhood - there is abundant free street parking. The speed limit is 15 mph. No parking within 50 feet of a stop sign, or in front of a neighbor's driveway. Welcome to pull in front of the monastery entrance to briefly drop off people and things, but please don't park there, in order to allow others the chance to pull in—thank you!
It would be helpful if anyone can stay after the event and assist with clean up!
We look forward to seeing you during this auspicious Vesak Season!
These programs are offered freely as pure gifts of Dhamma Dana. Thanks to everyone near and far who has offered the support that makes these offerings possible.
