Transportation & Parking Info for Dhammadharini's New Monastery Opening Blessings July 16th & 17th

Dear friends of Dhammadharini,

The opening blessings for our new bhikkhunis' monastery are now just one week away. We share this useful transportation & parking information with you for your planning. More information about the Opening Blessings will be forthcoming - please keep an eye out! :).

DIRECTIONS

Please carpool or take public transportation.
The monastery is a half mile walk from public parking and public transportation.

By bus: 

-> from San Francisco Bay, take the Golden Gate Transit 101 bus north to Petaluma Transit Mall. Transfer to the 44 Sonoma County Transit bus to Santa Rosa. Disembark at Sequoia and E. Cotati at Sonoma State University. See directions below for 1/2 mile walk to monastery. Live link to route on Google maps.

By car: 

-> from eastbound E. Cotati, turn left on Sequoia.

-> from southbound Petaluma Blvd, turn right on E. Cotati, and right on Sequoia (SSU south entrance). 

-> from northbound Petaluma Blvd, turn left on E. Cotati, and right on Sequoia (SSU south entrance).
-> Parking: enter Sequoia (SSU south entrance), then turn left to lot J or right to Lot F. $5/day or can pay per hour by coins, debit/credit card.

Park, then walk out on Sequoia to E. Cotati. Cross E. Cotati and turn left. Then turn right on Sturtevant Dr. Walk 2 blocks, crossing Lynn Dr. and Weiss Ln. Then, after one house, the monastery entrance will be ahead on your right, after a long wooden fence, before you come to the stop sign at William Dr.  Look for the happy people and Buddhist flags. 

Do you have food, gifts or non-walkers to drop off?
First drive to the monastery front entrance, drop off and then proceed to parking. Please be on the lookout for pedestrians, children, pets and local traffic in this quiet rural residential neighborhood. Note: 15 mile/hour speed limit in neighborhood.

Greetings everyone, 

A friend of mine pointed out that the directions "By Car" have a mistake. It should say Petaluma Hill RD instead of Petaluma Blvd. The address is correct, so if you are using a mapping program, you should be fine. 

If you are using the handwritten directions, please, don't get off the highway in Petaluma at Petaluma Blvd, but look for Petaluma Hill Rd.
