Dear friends,

 

This Sunday December 13th, Ajahn Sona the Abbot of Birkin Forest Monastery in Canada will be giving a Conference in Vancouver to share with all those who are interested about the recent World Abbots' Meeting (WAM) of the Thai forest tradition of Ajahn Chah.  The WAM discussed the recent Australia bhikkhuni ordinations as well as the status and role of women monastics in the Thai forest traditon internationally. 

 

We plan to be viewing the Vancouver Conference with Ajahn Sona live via Skype at the Bodhi House library on Sunday at 1:30 pm PST.  Welcome to join us at the Bodhi House if you would like to view the conference together. 

 

If you are not able to watch live but are interested in the Conference, it will be recorded and transcribed and available to all in the near future.  There will also be a formal Statement emerging soon from all of the abbots participant in the WAM.

Welcome all to potluck at the Bodhi House before the Conference.  If you would like to participate in the potluck and monastic meal offering, please arrive by 10:30 am.  The monastic meal begins at 11 am.  There may be a Dhamma reflection and time for Q & A after the meal, before the Conference viewing begins.
