Data Engineers – Microsoft Fabric & Power BI

• Duration: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire (CTH)

 

Job Summary

We are seeking three Data Engineers to join Prudential’s Retirement Strategies & Enterprise Data Modernization team. These roles are critical to a massive application modernization project, focusing on the implementation of Microsoft Fabric to transform data into actionable business intelligence. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between a cloud-first AWS data lake and Power BI visualization layers, ensuring that enterprise-scale datasets are modeled for high performance, accuracy, and usability.

 

Key Responsibilities & Required Skills

Microsoft Fabric & Data Modernization

• Fabric Implementation: Design and develop scalable data models directly within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, supporting the transition to a unified data analytics platform.
• Pipeline Optimization: Architect and optimize data pipelines to handle high-volume datasets hosted within a cloud-first environment.
• Cloud Integration: Work across a hybrid cloud stack where 90% of data is hosted on AWS, requiring seamless integration between AWS storage and Microsoft analytical tools.

 

Advanced Power BI & Reporting

• Visualization: Build sophisticated, high-performance dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
• Data Modeling: Develop robust data modeling architectures (Star/Snowflake schemas) that ensure data integrity and rapid query response times.
• Technical Translation: Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex reporting needs into scalable technical solutions across both the modeling and visualization layers.

 

Project & Delivery

• App Modernization: Provide dedicated support for the "App Mod" project, ensuring data architecture supports modern application requirements.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and ensure the performance and usability of enterprise reporting platforms.

 

Mandatory Technical Requirements

1. Microsoft Fabric: Hands-on experience with Fabric is required, including prior implementation work.
2. Power BI: Strong proficiency in dashboard development, DAX, and data visualization.
3. Data Modeling: Expert understanding of reporting architecture and data modeling principles.
4. AWS Familiarity: Experience working with data hosted on AWS infrastructure.
5. Local Presence: Ability to work onsite in Newark, NJ three times per week.
