Job Summary
We are seeking a Mainframe Architect with extensive expertise in the IBM Mainframe stack to lead the design and optimization of core applications in the
Transportation and Logistics domain. This role focuses on building scalable, reliable architectures for high-volume batch processing and online transaction management. You will serve as a technical leader, translating logistics business requirements
into robust system designs while ensuring the performance and integrity of enterprise-scale DB2 databases.
Key Responsibilities & Required Skills
Architecture Design & Development
- System Modeling: Design robust mainframe architectures specifically tailored for complex logistics and transportation workflows.
- Online Processing: Lead the development and modification of
CICS programs to handle high-concurrency online transaction processing (OLTP).
- Core Programming: Design and develop critical business logic using
COBOL, ensuring high performance in core logistics applications.
Batch Processing & Data Management
- Database Optimization: Utilize
DB2 to architect efficient data access layers, ensuring data integrity and optimal query performance for massive datasets.
- Automation & Job Control: Develop and maintain sophisticated
JCL (Job Control Language) to automate batch processing and streamline operational efficiency.
- Utilities Management: Leverage
IBM Mainframe Utilities to manage system resources and maintain high availability across the environment.
Optimization & Leadership
- Modernization: Analyze legacy logistics systems to identify opportunities for code optimization and architectural modernization.
- Technical Mentorship: Provide high-level architectural guidance and lead development teams through complex production releases and upgrades.
- Production Support: Monitor system health, troubleshoot high-priority production issues, and implement preventive measures to minimize business disruption.
