ADSL True Speed Test

Having just had my ADSL line installed, I was wondering if there was a test
that would show me if I'm really getting all the bandwidth I'm paying for.
Any input would be appreciated...

Call your ISP and ask if they have a large file you can download via ftp from
their server, and time the download. That should tell the story.

Go to www.computingcentral.com/topics/bandwidth and check out their speed test.

although the below suggestion is the best test... here are some
alternatives that you could try... (it has been discussed at length in
other threads that these results can be suspect)

go down to "Testing your connection..."
there are about 8 sites...
