Saturday, 07/01/23 1:00 PM to 4:10 PM at the Hulen Mall food court, in southwest Fort Worth, TX
This was another of our regularly scheduled Saturday afternoon game sessions. We had two gamers. Luckily there were no loud musicians this afternoon.
First up, my Zertz, which was new to Michelle C. Its an abstract game for two, where the “board” grows smaller as the game progresses. The pieces are black, gray, and white balls that sit on black rings. There are five ways to win. Each turn a player adds a ball to the “board“, hopefully makes a jump (to capture a ball or three), and removes an empty ring. Thus the “board” grows more constricted as the game goes on.
We played thrice. In game #1 Michelle won in 14 minutes, with three white balls. In game #2 Michael W won in 15 minutes with five black balls. And in game #3 Michelle won in 16 minutes with four white balls. I believe Michelle enjoyed the game.
Our next game was my Carcassonne, which Michelle had played once before. We pretty much stayed neck and neck on the score track until end game end game scoring, where I pulled way ahead.
Scores: Michael W 101, Michelle C 71. Duration: 36 minutes. We both enjoyed the game.
It was then time for my Ingenious (twice), which Michelle had played before. As there were only two of us we only used the “white” center portion of the game board.
In the first game Michelle pulled out a last minute win with 8 in orange and green. While Michael was close behind, finishing with 7 in green. Duration: 24 minutes
In the second game Michael won with 11 in purple, while Michelle made 9 in orange. Duration: 21 minutes.
