That looks a tad extortionate for pulling a bit of wire.

It all comes out about the same. For standard installation (few are
standard) we charge $150 for the first drop and $75 for every drop after
that. The price can very if it is multi story, long run or custom
configuration. Some phone systems are more complex and need to be tied into
the security/fire alarm system. Plano can be a real pain with commercial
construction. I have had to raise our prices %30 when permits pulled in
Plano.
Talk about custom getting expensive. We just finish installing remote
controlled lighting, projection screen, LAN, stage floor boxes and bla, bla,
ect. at UTD. The remote control lighting boxes and stage boxes were $600
each, not including installation. The only good thing is; UTD is not
required to pull permits. They have some type of state exemption. Some of
the wiring looks like the painters installed it. Fixing it was a nightmare.

I thought it was closer to $75....at least that is what a drop for a new
electrical outlet goes for, and that is a little more work than a phone
line.
Feel free to e-mail me.
