As a Web Applications Support Engineer for this Wireless
Telecommunications company, you will be responsible for maintaining
high availability web applications in a production environment.
Duties will include: configuring and supporting web servers (Java,
JBOSS, Tomcat and Apache); troubleshooting problems with production
web applications; setting up proxy relays between Apache and Tomcat;
deploy new application releases into production; troubleshoot network,
firewall and security problems; troubleshoot application bugs and work
with developers for resolution; troubleshoot problems with database
applications; capacity planning and resource management for web
servers; establish, enforce and maintain support procedures; write
scripts (Perl, Bash, Shell) to automate monitoring tasks; maintain
communications between business owners and systems development.
Applications in production include GPS and Mobile Navigation Services.
Successful candidate will have a BSCS, 4+ years of experience in web
application administration and be skilled with Web Applications, Web
Servers (Java, JBOSS, Tomcat, Apache), Databases (DB2, Sybase, SQL
Server, MySql, JDBC), and Script Writing. Prefer some experience or
exposure to languages such as Java, C++, C# to aid with application
debugging. Must be a self starter and a proactive problem solver.
