For those of you who are involved in helping out in districts, or for
people thinking about getting involved more in district stuff/helping
at groups, here's some information about some really good training
opportunities that are coming up.

Venturer Leader Training

Friday 15th - Sunday 17th July @ Cudham Environmental Activities
Centre (near London)

The course covers:

- Young people, society and Woodcraft Folk aims and principles
- Working with young people - the leader's role and safeguarding
- Programme planning, groups, issue based work and peer education
- Group organisation, course review and action planning

Learn to Play the Woodcraft Way

Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd July @ Lockerbrooke Outdoor Centre (peak
district)

The course is aimed at:

- Members, parents and volunteers already involved in Woodcraft groups
- Members, parents and volunteers wanting to attend camps or
residentials
- Young people wanting to take part more fully in the organisation
they have grown up in
- New members, parents or volunteers wishing to get involved for the
first time

I've done this one through weekly sessions at Folk house and it was
really interesting and useful. Issues covered include; woodcraft aims
and principles, health and safety, co operative play, safeguarding,
inclusion and diversity, child development and play.

Like it says, its not just aimed at people who help at groups, but
anyone who goes on camps or residential's with young people as well.
