On this page, we're going to list the best controller settings and camera in FIFA 23. Please do keep in mind that a lot of this will come down to personal preference, so be sure to experiment and find what works best for you.

The best controller settings in FIFA 23 will largely come down to personal preference, but you can edit them at any time by navigating to Customise > Settings. We'd recommend you set your game up as described below, but feel free to deviate from our suggestions according to your own personal playstyle and taste. The settings exist to give you options, so be sure to experiment and find what you're comfortable with.

One thing worth noting is that in FIFA 23, EA Sports has added a Recommended and Not Recommended tab to all of the settings. We've outlined our personal optimal settings below, some of which differ to what the publisher recommends. Ultimately, as alluded to above, it's all about experimentation and finding what works best for you.

Much like the best controller settings in FIFA 23, the best camera settings will also come down to personal preference. If you're planning to play competitively, then we'd recommend opting for the Co-Op option as this will give you the best view of the pitch. You should also increase the Height to 20 and Zoom to 0 in order to see as much of the field as possible, although this will come at the cost of potentially not being able to see individual animations as well, which may cause you to mistime mechanics like Timed Shots. You'll need to find a happy medium that works for you, which will likely depend on the size of your television and how close you sit to it.

If you're not planning to play online, and want a more immersive experience, then we'd recommend selecting the EA Sports GameCam option and then setting the Zoom to 0 in order to see as much as possible. This will provide you with a more immersive experience while still giving you a decent overall view of the field. Personally, we'll sometimes toggle between the Co-Op camera when playing FUT 23 and the EA Sports GameCam when playing Career Mode, but it's up to you.

What do you think are the best controller settings and camera settings in FIFA 23? Take a look at our FIFA 23 guide for much more information, and let us know in the comments section below.

While paying seasons games my controller settings are reset to default and I can't change them back. I have to quit my game & go into the main settings section to completely redo them. I can no longer retrieve them.

I saw this solution mentioned a while back but wasn't sure how much weight to give to it. If this is reliable then it would be good to give feedback in this thread as to whether we are all users of more than one controller on rotation. I am.

@EA_Mako anyway to force a email reply notification from your end to everyone in the thread? If we can prove it is a multi controller issue then that should really help you guys investigate. I know in kick off mode it assigns an identity to your kick off experience so I guess it ties into that code.

I only use one controller on my PS5 so its definitely not a multi-controller issue.

I've also tried the deleting Profiles and Saving FIFA 23 Profile thing. Still loses the settings.

Can anybody remember a game released that didn't save ANY of your settings? I'm beyond dumbfounded how this has made it to full release without being fixed. Let alone taken a month AFTER release to still yet fix it!

To add to that, how are most of, if not all of the recent patch changes got any sort of priority over an issue like this??? Face scans, ball velocity on passes etc how do they take priority over the game settings not being saved???

Honestly, i really don't know what to think anymore about how things are run behind the scenes... but i think we can all guess.

Still having issue. Only game mode that I can play is FUT as it does not require saving but I have to pause every game to adjust control setting and camera. I don't understand how it is acceptable that you can release a game where people cannot play game modes that require saving.

So basically everytime i turn on the console and enters FUT, I need to configure my controller settings (no matter how many times I choose an Empty slot to save the configuration after i configure my settings, it stays "Empty" in my next entry to the game).

For the bug (Pc) that does not save data we have already found a SOLUTION together, enter the game and load the profile with the keyboard and with the ps4 controller disconnected, once inside the FIFA menu you see that they do not welcome you and you have all the Saved configuration, because there you turn on the controller (I didn't need to use ds4windows), I have it via bluetooth and you just have to press the PS button on the controller and play!!! Thanks EA for fixing it (irony)

I'm saving gamepad settings with only keyboard, but when i'm starting fast game my saved settings are missing. There is only classic an alternative setings. I cant use "j"i"l buttons. I used to play with "w,a,s,d". Please help. I bought it for 20000 tenge((

Yes same here, controller bug is ruining my life. I can not have some epic Fifa matches with my mates, so we have to talk about some weird topics to each other. Please EA, don't be there playing with the muppets, play with the code and fix this s**t. Thx

Have the same problem, Google me already the fingers sore to find a solution. The controller settings are not saved and randomly switched back.
Hey EA, do you rest on your monopoly position just like that? Fix the problem, can not be so hard - do something for your costumers!

In this post we will be looking at options that may help with the motor accessibility of FIFA 22 [PEGI 3] on the PlayStation, but the control options are the same for the Xbox and PC when playing with a controller. They may not appear in the Nintendo Switch version of the game, however. When the PlayStation buttons are mentioned, the equivalent Xbox controls will be put in brackets afterwards, if there is a difference. Testing and screenshots were done on the PS4 version of the game.

You can also access it from the home menu by going across to the Customise tab > Settings > Accessibility. It can also be accessed during a match by pressing the Options button and selecting Settings.

Some of the menus in FIFA 22 require the right joystick for scrolling. Turning this setting on switches the functionality of the Right Stick to the Left Stick. As standard, there are only a few side menus in FIFA 22 that need the right joystick.

While turning on this setting means that you will never need to use the right joystick, the Left Stick for most of the main menus has been deactivated and you now need to use D-pad directions. This is different to previous other recent versions of FIFA.

Turning this setting on switches the functionality of the L1/R1 (LB/RB) and L2/R2 (LT/RT) buttons in many of the menus to the Left Stick. This allows you to navigate through all the setting options with the Left Stick. Again, this only applies to the menus and will not change the controls required for gameplay.

FIFA 22 allows you to remap the buttons used in-game. This means that if you find a button hard to reach or press you could remap it to a button that you find easier. An example would be if you find it difficult to press Triangle (Y) for Through Ball and wanted to use this more often than Lob and could more easily press Square (X), you could swap these two controls.

Bear in mind that when swapping buttons, the original function of that button will be swapped. If you are swapping a button to a one you cannot activate on the controller, you will need to play the game without that button.

In Two Button Mode, Auto Sprinting is always turned on. This means that the game will sprint for you when there is space to do so and the situation may benefit from it. However, if you have access to the Sprint button (R2 or RT) you can still use this to sprint manually.

In a standard game, the Left Joystick acts as player movement. When you are in possession, the Cross (A) button is used for all types of kick, including passing and shooting. The type of kick played will depend on the situation you are in, the direction you are aiming and how long you hold the button for. Sometimes you may be expecting to shoot but a pass will be played instead, but with practice you learn in which situations a certain type of kick will likely be played.

One and Two Button Modes will work for offline and online play. They will also work in matches in all of the different game modes in FIFA (Volta, Career etc) but you might find you need some additional buttons in menus and certain game modes, such as Skills games.

Auto Switching is a controller setting that enables you to dictate how much the game helps you to switch player when you are not in possession of the ball. If you have your controller set to Classic, then Auto Switching will default to Air Balls and Loose Balls. This means that the game will switch player during Lobs, Crosses and Loose Balls. In all other situations you will need to press the L1 (LB) button to change player.
