Mexico is the new Australia.
There aren't really any good reasons to convert a 1964 Ford Galaxie into a Baja off-road race car, except to prove it can be done. Then again, once you see the thing, it seems that this might well be a good enough reason. The car was built by Rene Aguirre for the Mexican 1000 and Cortez Rally, which will be run in April, on the harsh and unforgiving terrain of Baja California. And this is probably the craziest-looking rally car we've ever seen.
We would just love to see a marketing tie-in with Mad Max: Fury Road. Maybe Aguirre could change his name to “The Humungous.”
