I see this feature as an investment in the quality of gameplay, interest for the game, as a platform for those who love to play and for those who love to be social.
Just in a nutshell why I do the poll.
I have seen many events such as fashion show, model photo contest, best dancer of the month etc. Most of event hosts want to reward their participants. I saw 5 gifts for the 1st place, 3 gifts for the 2nd etc.
Why don't we reward them in a civilized way, by gold? Just this question was on my mind.
Few days ago I was on fashion show(I will post few screenshots under spoiler) and it was fun, but something was lost in my subjective opinion. Some reward would be nice as a appreciation for participation. Not a gift, but gold. It would be awesome to spend it on everything you want. Right? We don't live and work for special tickets for bread, cheese or a pair of sneakers, as it was in some communist countries, but we are getting money. Just money and this is fair. Those gifts with pics are really cool in special situations, but seems we need a little bit more freedom. I hope, I am not alone with such a wish.
This feature can give us a reason and motivation to be longer in 3dxchat, to play more interesting, for helping friends, to create new events with rewarding, to buy a beer for a friend and so on
In the end it will give us a breath of fresh air and freedom to use our money as we want.
Also, not good or bad thing (at least in my book) but you should know it - the ability to transfer xgold will drastically increase the extent of prostitution in the game. Because with the ability to get xgold from others - prostitution can actually be profitable. Now we have only the whores who doing it because it's their fantasy to be a whore. With xgold transfer and the ability to do an alt and earn money for a whole account - we will have tons of whores. A lot of which will be males pretending to be a girls btw. I am here not to judge and not much of a purist/moralist, and as I said - I don't think about this as a bad or good thing, but just be ready - it WILL happen if xgold will become transferable.
My gut feel is that this is a really bad thing, and risks driving many male members away from 3DX if sex becomes largely a commodity to be traded. I know I would hate 3DX to become like that, not because I am "cheap" but because for me and I suspect many other men, a 3DX sexual encounter is an opportunity to be valued for who I am (and for me to do the same for my partner) and not for what money or gift I have contributed. Having a marketplace in which xgold can be transferred for different purposes and can be be used in exchange for sex would for certain dramatically increase the motivation to try to profit from sex.
Hi Xizl Why do you think that this feature will decrease the amount of money for developers? In my opinion this feature will increase it, I just forgot to say about it. Those people with tonns of gold was playing a lot to get 300 gold day by day(but I think they used it for photo slots lol). Other people who bought xGold, already gave their money to developers, it is fair. Devs got it and 3dx team getting money from us every month(20$/month is okay for such project). So don`t think about it as about a big problem. Their money is their money. But because of this feature they will get more, because transfer is a reason to buy more Gold for bringing it for any reason I told about.
About prostitution. This is the oldest "profession" in 3dx and today they "works" for gifts. Or as you said for fun. It was and will be. Prostitution is a neutral thing and without prostitution,escorting etc, devs will lose more money than anyone can imagine. For someone this is bad, for someone this is good. But I trying to say about some freedom. Who wants to pay, they will pay. Who don`t then don`t. This a choice for everyone and I know that in 3dx a lot of people who will not pay. We have already tonnes of "whores"(I personally don`t like this word) and I guess this amount will not be increased massively, because you don`t playing free-to-play game and most of us are adult and paying for the sub. Again, this is a choice for everyone.
Now about profit from sex. What exactly the profit? There is a lot of prostitutes who takes gifts, making reputation and some profit already. Beer =35 gold. Gift=300gold. I don`t think that all men will pay for sex after that or all men will be hooking for a beer or for divorce. I personally OK about escorts, prostitution, I don`t mind, this is their choice. They have fun as many of us in a different way. But with this money transfer people will be able to do more and more and some of us will be able to spend it on something good in the end.
And about prostitution... Well, I am fine with it, but it really will increase a lot and it will change atmosphere of the game. Good or bad? I don't know, for me neither. But for some males it can result in even harder problems with finding a partner.
3dxchat team will think about it. Their money, their business About atmosphere, I walking around public places and I see many of them. I mean atmosphere was changed many years ago, but not in a bad way. We have escort places, clubs, brothels, hookers who working alone. It is hard to find a place where I can`t see them. Our groups of people was separated long time ago and today I am not sure that one group of people(hookers) can push or break another group(DJ`s or dancers, or just group of friends). There are different ideas and atmosphere inside each group. Different interests. I trust that 3dxchat is a way better than achat(I found it boring) and social part will not be broken. Every man will be able to find a woman as well as today and more, man will be able to gift something to his woman. Anyway, if something bad comes to 3dxchat, devs can delete this feature anytime.
Exactly. It's not about judging whether prostitution is right or wrong, it is about how it might change the character of the game and make it harder for some men to find a partner without xgold being involved. That would be such a shame, and I don't think worth taking the risk of potentially ruining the game for many.
And this is the problem. Please understand that sex is not just an act of physical pleasure to men. It is also about knowing that you are desired for who you are and not for what you gifted to the partner.
I didn`t say that gift is a reason, but attention. Please understand that gift is not just a money for us, but at first it is attention, expression of some respect and it gives us to understand that we are necessary.

Prostitution is only allowed here as a roleplay using gifts. Now if a change was made to let people gift xGold that might change, and it seems like the rules are quite selectively enforced anyways. There are all types of rules they don't follow in the first place. If the intent though is really to send a gift or prize then the devs could just set a minimum amount for the amount of xGold that could be gifted. Which is reasonable for a gift, but to high for paying for sex. 1,500-2,100 xGold seems like a reasonable minimum to me.
In my opinion will be not so much hookers in the game, because everyone who did a hooker character, they already have this. New ones? Not that massively as many afraid about. They wanted gifts, after all they will want equivalent or will stay on gifts. I have this on my mind not because I want this feature(I want this feature by some good reason), but because I know such social games like imvu, second life, achat, etc. I know how it is going, why they have some problems and I am sure that here will be nothing like at other games. I may be wrong, this is my subjective opinion, but 6 years in a row and after many updates, big changes, 3dxchat staying nice. Nothing changed mostly. More trolls became to wc lol
