chasing and repousse'

Hi I'm new. I was just reading about chasing and repousse' and It
occurred to my that there might be a link or cross-over from metal to
clay in terms of technique if not materials. About 20 years ago, I
experimented with metal chasing. Now, being a clay person, I think
there may be some kind of bridge between the two media.
I do not remember much of my experimentation with soft brass, etc. but
the technique of impressing tickles a memory in me.
Any feedback?
