patrick/ Kianwee,
I installed  energy plus version 6 from this link http://apps1.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/  and the installation went smooth. But when i tried to run the energy plus nodes in houdini the nodes are showing some error and is not functioning properly. I have copied the "py2energyplus,shapely& rpyc" folders from the library of dexen and pasted in the lib folder of python26 inside houdini as i did for the radiance installation. And i have also tried both versions of energyplus 6 ( 32 bit and 64 bit) since my laptop is running a 64 bit windows 7. But still i am encountering problems with the enrgy plus nodes given in the example files of dexen. I have attached the screenshots of the error message from energy plus nodes along with this mail.Kindly guide me with wat is wrong and how to rectify this error.

Regards,
nittin

Hey nittin,

Did u check whether C:\EnergyPlusV6-0-0 is added to the WINDOWS path?? If not, make sure u add it inside the windows path like how u must have added the dexen bin folder and houdini bin folder. It must add by itself, but sometimes it doesnt and in my case i had to add it manually.

Cheers

Hi kianwee and patrick,

For the energyplus SOP plugin, i simulated example 2 file from dexen
using singapore EPW file. Why did i get zone heating loads for
singapore's climate? shouldnt the readings be zero?
I have set the thermo set point at 28-18 degrees, which means that the
system will only heat when the temp is below 18 degrees and cools it
when its above 28 degrees.
In singapore's case, the temp will never go below 18, hence why is
there zone heating kwh readings?

Really confused regarding this issue.
cheers

Why dont you try reducing the temperature further to 16 ? and see if
there is still any heating going on ? Reduce it to a stage where there
is no more heating. Try to debug the problem step by step and
understanding whats going on, I suspect it might just be a setting
thing for energyplus since heating is turn on.
