Hello Collaborators, greeting from the Fernando Tamayo Library in Bogotá. I need from you. I have come to this library in which there is already a classification order of knowledge, they have used the Dewey Tables. However, since I have to enter the classification of new books, I want to do it more easily using the Dewey classification.
The problem I have is that this simplicity that I want to apply to the classification would leave me with several titles of works that are different, with the same classification number and I want them to be differentiated. My question to you is how can I classify from Dewey with simplicity but creating differences between the titles of works?
Sorry, I don't speak English and I had to use the translator. Thank you

Anamaría Fonseca Guerrero...

Different books may have the same number but rarely the same author, so we also put the 1st 3 letters of the author's last name after the Dewey number, as in 599.36 JAM. On the spine label the author's letters are below the Dewey number.
