Has there been any development or does the community have any knowledge of a digitizing system that will function with the tinyg?

I am thinking step along Y continuously travel in X and probe on a CNC machine connected to software that collects the probed XYZ coordinates.
This would be used for duplication of physical part and CAD rework for duplicate machining. (currently using Chillipeppr to interface with the tinyg)

I would like a simple solution.

Well, your simplest then would be to cover your piece in something conductive like aluminum foil. Then just use the Auto-Level widget to probe your piece. You'll get a 3d representation of it shown in the 3D viewer. If you then want to convert that to CAD I'm not sure the best approach. You'd have to maybe write a macro that converts three.js to DXF or STL.
