Could anyone recommend me a good text book to understand VTK and Gmsh?
Are books below good? or any other? The upper one is already sold out.

I am not familiar with these books. I would recommend joining the
mailing lists of these groups here:
http://www.gmsh.info

Please note that devsim is restricted to triangle and tetrahedral meshes.

I think you might find a book specifically about Paraview instead of
VTK. For example:
http://www.amazon.com/The-ParaView-Guide-Visualization-Application/dp/1930934297

I had an older edition of the Paraview book from kitware, but did not
find it very useful. Hopefully this new edition is improved. You can
join their mailing list at:
http://www.paraview.org

I have not updated the VTK writer in devsim in a long time. I do not
have very much recent experience with Paraview. Please let me know if
you have any issues with it. I use the Tecplot output format from
devsim with VisIt for most of my work.

It looks like both Betascript and Bookvika publishing companies are
fradulent. They are publishing freely available content from Wikipedia
articles. Do not buy their books.
