Dear devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga.

Amarjit prabhu had raised some queries, as the questions are relevant for everyone, please find the reply in mail chain below.

HG Anand Vrindavan prabhu has great concern for devotees. That’s why he suggests devotees to not get trapped in loans etc, rather he advises the best methods to enhance our wealth in a way most suitable to devotees (without any anxiety). Especially those in grahastha ashram will require money for the basic necessities, proper investments could help us in getting it at the right time…

Let’s not unnecessarily accumulate money in savings account and then figure out what to do… Let’s invest monthly…

Hope this service under his guidance is helping devotees nicely.

Ys,

Ram Vilas das

Thanks for the mail. The reasons which HG AVP gives in favour of going for investments even during this time,

  • We are not investing in stocks which carry more risk
  • We are investing in BEST PERFORMING mutual funds. All these funds have the money invested in India which is expected to have 7-8% GDP.
  • We don't invest in one fund, we invest small amounts in many funds and on different dates of the month, thus de-risking it further.
  • Based on the performance, we keep updating our list. If any fund has any severe problem, we'll immediately inform everyone.
  • We don't suggest short term investments. If we go for long term(5 years or so), we'll get handsome returns.
  • In mutual funds, money grows in 2 ways,
    • Whatever profit is made, it's shared. If we go for dividend option, profit will be credited to our account. But we want to grow our money, so we are advised to choose growth option, which means whatever profit is there, again corresponding units will be bought for us.
    • NAV(Net Asset Value) of the fund, which keeps changing from time to time.
  • Market will go through lot of churn, but we get the benefit through SIP because we invest fixed amount every month,
    • When NAV is high, we get less units
    • When NAV is low, we get more units
    • Because of above reasons, net purchasing cost is less. This is referred to rupee cost averaging.
    • Eg, if you invest Rs 1000 for 2 months in a fund.
      • 1st month, say NAV is 50, you get 20 units.
      • 2nd month, say NAV is 100, you get 10 units
      • Total investment in 2 months – Rs 2000,  total units – 30, average cost – Rs 66.67
      • Generally you won't see such a big difference in 2 consecutive months, but the example above shows the benefit we get.
      • What is investor's mood – 'Invest more when NAV is less, invest less when NAV is more' – This is what we get through SIP.
  • Our returns will depend on the time of withdrawal. If we withdraw when the market is good, we'll get handsome returns. We should be willing to wait for the right time. Market will go down, but it will definitely come up (talking about Indian economy).

We suggest SIP in equity mutual funds for long term investments. If somebody wants to withdraw early, we suggest MIP where the returns will be lower but one can withdraw anytime.

Thanks for your queries. Once you are satisfied, we would post it for everyone if you permit so.

Ys,

Rvd

Dandavats Prabhu,

PAMHO.AGTSP.AGTSGAG.

A small comment on the message from you: As such I don't have much idea of the investment market, but isn't it risky at the current phase when big Giants investment track has failed?

I mean its not the traditional investment anymore in that case, its again getting tinged with the anxiety of stock purchases/selling since no body is completely sure as to how the market will flow in future,i.e. getting close to gambling.

This is completely my personal thought on it, and not any generalized thought.

Hare Krishna,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, Sri Guru and Gauranga.

Most of us must have seen the news regarding major problems with US economy. It has impacted the economies of the whole world. Definitely it has impact on Indian economy but there is no need of any anxiety. The fundamentals of Indian economy are strong and it is still expected to grow at around 8%.

HG Anand Vrindavan Prabhu had suggested us to go for long term investments through SIP and MIP. In fact, when the market is low, we buy units at lower price which should give us even more returns. So instead of being in anxiety, we could smile considering everything as the arrangement of the Lord. Those who have already started investing should continue them. Those who have not yet starting investing, this could be good time to start as the market is low.

Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada,

Ram Vilas das
