Hi everybody,

I made the same announcement at today's meetup, but I reckon more
people might be reading this group - so here it goes in more details.

We at JN Solutions ( http://jsadvantage.com.au ) at looking for a full
time SysOps/DevOps (System Administrator) person to make a team of 12
for now. We're a growing company whose main goal is to build a great
user experience - we're massively simplifying an unnecessarily
complicated government system without the bureaucracy of government.
Most of our customer base is not-for-profit, though we're starting to
expand into other niches and industries - and growing customers base
bring certain growth pain with it, those we'd like you to help us
overcome.

We have a no-BS, agile environment and work hard to keep the work
exciting, always looking for people who can come up with creative
solutions to some of our unique challenges.

The main focus of the role is uptime, scalability and security. We
operate under the ISO27001 framework, and we may be subject to
government's audit at any time - that makes security best-practices
not an afterthought, but our everyday reality. This role will have a
big impact on the future of the company.

Our current environment is mostly Linux on VMware and managed by
Puppet. We have some Microsoft VMs, but nothing too complicated.
Storage is Netapp, Blades are HS22. Our actual application is written
in Ruby on Rails, with MySQL as its database - for which practical
knowledge of its performance tuning would be a huge plus. Currently
the production environment is being managed by some of the developers,
but the work load has become quite enough for a full time role.

Our office is in the very heart of Sydney CBD, with some amazing views
over the harbor, and we expect potential candidates to be comfortable
making daily commutes to the CBD to enjoy the view. We also expect
them to be experienced in architecturing and maintaining complex
heterogeneous environments, with a focus on long-term stability and
security. We will pay you well, and provide flexible working
arrangements, dual screen workstations, PS3 for your after-hours fun,
and other awesome stuff.

If it sounds like a job for you or someone you know - feel free to get
in touch (just reply to this email, to me personally), and I'll be
happy to meet face to face at our office, or anywhere else over a cup
of coffee to answer any of your questions.
