We don't have the full schedule for DevOps Days lined up for this year
yet. Oddly, they sometimes spring up with only a few months warning.
I'm pretty sure we're doing one in Austin this year. Ernest M. can
clarify since I think he's spearheading it.
You can pretty much guarantee that there will be at least one European
event as well.
Where are you located? If you can make it to LA next weekend, SCALE10x
is going on (http://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale10x) and there's a
DevOps event the day before hand.

I'll second that recommendation, plus you can always look at the
videos from previous
years to help you decide if it's a good fit. Surge puts almost
everything online.

There will definitely be a DevOpsDays Austin on April 2-3. Patrick will be posting it on the devopsdays.com site soon! It's not tied to another conference like the LA and Mountain View ones, but we sure had good turnout for Opscamp in 2009 so I hope we can pack 'em in anyway!

Yeah, Velocity, Surge, and Scale are the three that are most often cited. I go to Velocity every year, would go to more but we're cheap that way here. I went to Scala last year too, which is more big data oriented but that can be relevant depending on your focus.

John Vincent ---01/05/2012 08:53:25 AM---Also, I would say that there's always relevant content at Surge (http://omniti.com/surge/2012)

I hate to keep answering, sorry, but also check meetup.com and local tech calendars for locally relevant stuff. Here in Austin there is a DevOps SIG of the local Agile group, for example. The Puppet Labs/Opscode type of guys often have workshops here and there from time to time as well.

I'm glad that you let me know about this planning in advance, because I've already been accepted to give a tutorial on Chef at FLOSS-UK in March and a related talk (see <http://www.flossuk.org/Events/Spring2012>).
