Hello fellow DevOps of Munich,

first, sorry for the late notification. Sending email is hard. ;)

Our next meetup will be on *this* Thursday, 25.07.2013, at

CHIP Xonio Online GmbH
Poccistr. 11
80336 München

Starting time will be 19:00. Beer and Pizza will be graciously provided
by CHIP (thanks!).

I will do a talk about LXC (Linux Containers) and its usage in general,
how to use it to develop with vagrant and puppet/chef, and how to
integrate it in your CI for quickly testing your whole infrastructure.
This will take about half an hour.

If you have the time to do another talk or just want to tell us about
some cool new stuff you found, please respond to this email to the list
and tell us about it! You're very welcome to just do so and talk at the
meetup about it without asking for permission!

Another suggestion was talking about best practices with structuring
Puppet manifests. We should either talk about the differences of Chef
and Puppet and how potentially both worlds can learn from each other or
form two or maybe more discussion groups (any Salt or Ansible users out
there? :)).

Due to the anticipated high temperatures, it was suggested that, we
finish early this time, go to some beer garden and concentrate on what
we do best: drink beer and rant about broken software!

Please distribute this invitation to your local devops peers and ask
them to come and join this mailing list! The use of brute force is
hereby authorized at your own discretion. :)

Cheers,
Franz

Hi!

I would like to ask one thing...please don't get me wrong, are the meetups always in German language?

Because of the email, I thought it would be in English, which would be great for me as I'm pretty new in the city, in my workplace we speak English all day long...so I'm learning German very slowly, and my native languages don't help much for learning it.

I could manage to get the big picture from the talks, I new a bit about lxc and the slides were in English, about puppet I've been working lately in a similar role/profiles model...so even if I missed quite some things (specially from the discussions after the talks) I enjoyed :-) and even if they are in German I think I will keep joining you from time to time...but I was just wondering whether you (as group) have considered giving the talks in English.

Thanks a lot for everything.

Sergio.

Hi Sergio,

we had meetups in english as well. It just depends on who's coming,
since we don't RSVP it's hard to tell. :) I'd recommend to just ask
on the list before the meetup, so the speakers can decided /
announce which language the talks going to be in.

cheers,
codec
