Greetings,

It appears 7140 front lighting fixture was damaged by the landscaping crew this afternoon during scheduled service.

The crew left the fixture along with broken glass scattered along the driveway of 7140. This could have caused serious damage to Tracy’s car. Very concerning. Someone said they heard a loud bang around 11am.

Hi,

The unfortunate lawn light issue should be brought to Paul's attention at RowCal by the homeowner where the damage occurred.

Did anyone catch the incident on their house cameras or see it happen?
If so, please also report that to RowCal.

Thanks for photographing it.

I noticed one of the landscape people in my yard at about 4:45 -5 PM today. I don't know how long they were here or when they arrived to mow the lawns today.

However, my daughter said she noticed the lawn light was down at about 1:45 when she drove out of the development, and she said the landscapers were not here yet. She noticed the landscapers were here mowing the front lawns when she returned at 3:15.

Could it be that the lawn light fell down on its own or fell due to some other reason since someone said they heard a loud bang much earlier in the day?

Thanks,
Susan

Subject: Re: [DEVONHOA] 7140 Front Lighting Fixture Damage

Dear Devon Village Community,

I want to thank Marc for coming out this evening to assist me and for helping generate this email. Today has truly been one of those difficult days — I lost my cousin to cancer, and when I returned home, I was met with another upsetting situation.

When I left my home this morning around 9:00 a.m., my light post was standing perfectly fine. Before leaving, I ran into Dawn, who asked to borrow a hammer. We both went inside my home to look for one and came out together — at that time, my light post was intact and in good condition. We both then got into our cars and left the complex.

When I returned home around 7:30 p.m., I found my light post knocked over on the grass, with the lamp shattered across my driveway and sidewalk. I spoke with Ceily, who mentioned that she heard a noise of glass breaking during a meeting between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. When she went to check, she didn’t see anything, but from my understanding, the landscapers were on-site around that same time.

All I know is that my light post did not simply fall on its own. It’s extremely upsetting that this happened, and even more frustrating that no one took responsibility or notified me—or any of my neighbors—about the incident. This is a costly repair that I shouldn’t have to pay for, and frankly, I’m very upset about the situation.

Although I am the only renter in our community, I’ve lived here for over ten years and take great pride in my home and our neighborhood. I’ve always tried to be a good neighbor, and I’m just hoping for help in getting my light post repaired.

If anyone has security footage or video that may have captured what happened, I would be extremely grateful if you could share it.

Thank you all for your understanding and support.
Wishing everyone a blessed evening.

Warm regards,

I had a meeting at 9-10 and at some time closer to middle or end I heard a loud sound of glass breaking. I went to door and looked outside quickly but didn’t see anything. I just thought I must have been hearing things and ran back in to my meeting.
But I would think the landscapers would have at least seen the pole and probably should have mentioned it. Were they even able to cut the grass there?

That’s a good question for Paul to ask the landscaper when and if the homeowner reports it to RowCal.

Thanks Cizely.

Our tall backyard planter was knocked down also. Is Paul in this thread?

Hi Karen,

I am sorry to hear your tall backyard planter was knocked over. Paul is not on this thread.
It sounds like the lamp post came down long before the landscapers were on site yesterday.
The process that has been outlined for us by our management company is that if a homeowner has a question or an issue regarding your property, the development or the companies we contract out with, to please contact RowCal. Here is their contact info: https://www.rowcal.com/contact

Thank you,
Susan

Hello all,

Our tenant, Tracy resides in 7140 was out of town and came back today and noticed this fallen light. It is not ideal for her as it is outside her home. Has the landscaper been notified and any timeline on when will be fixed?

Thanks
Anitha
