Hi neighbors,

I just wanted to point out a happy sight in our little neighborhood. In the little patch of dirt in front of the cement wall, (in the middle, near the light post), there are a few butterfly weed plants (the flowers are all done blooming for the year), and on those plants are 13 fat monarch caterpillars munching away on the leaves of the plant.  They look like they will probably form their chrysalis soon, and a couple weeks later, fly away to their winter home in Mexico.

Yes! I saw them on the milkweed too. I love seeing the bumblebees enjoying all the flowers. It’s the little things that bring joy sometimes. Thanks for reminding me of that 🙂.

Prettiest caterpillar ever! I am also envious of that winter home in Mexico! Lol! 😝 Ironically, I noticed that on the leaf behind there is one of those lantern flies trying to kill everything! 👿

If only we could these butterflies to take those pests with them! Seriously, though, thanks for sharing the pic and for all you do! Such a blessing to our community!
