Hi

Can DeVIDE be used to construct 3D images from 2D images that are taken from different viewpoints? (not slice images)
If not, which tool do you recommend? I tried Insight3D but it wasn't as automatic as I wanted.

DeVIDE can't do this. It's definitely quite a hard problem. You could try Autodesk 123D Catch: http://www.123dapp.com/catch

Team

I have a quick question for you all.  I really appreciate being a part of this users group and have learn a tremendous amount of information from it.

I have been using Devide to take CBCT scans and generate STLs from the DICOM.  This has worked out great for us.

I would like to be able to manipulate the STL files by cutting portions out of the 3D rendering.  Is there a free STL editor that will allow freehand “clipping” or cutting of a STL file that you guys are aware of?

Thanks

Dr. Brooks

If I may offer a suggestion, Meshlab may be one such program. For myself as a novice, the tools in the bar at the top initially were not self-explanatory, but after a while the differences between them and what they do became clear.

That's a great suggestion by James, that would also have been my best guess.

Good luck,
Charl

Perfect and that did exactly what I needed.

Thanks for the help!
