One benefit of this would be that we can apply for grants directly
through the federation. This can help organisations that are not yet
incorporated to get started - they could work through us and save a
lot of hassle in formally registering their own organisation. It can
also mean that we can get funding for projects that we do together
involving more than one organisation. And thirdly it can allow us to
get involved directly in fundraising - getting donations etc.
The down side is that it will require a certain amount of work and
money to do. So it may be worth doing only if we actually anticipate
needing those services.
