But why do you want to develop a simulation of Hooke's Law "from scratch"? PhET already has a Hooke's Law simulation. It's published at https://phet.colorado.edu/en/simulation/hookes-law, and the JavaScript source code can be found at https://github.com/phetsims/hookes-law.
