OSS Watch will present a webinar this Wednesday 14 March, 13:30 GMT,
on the topic "An introduction to Free and Open Source Software"
This webinar will introduce the ideas behind free and open source
software, both for users and for developers. We will tour the basic
licence types and discuss the development and membership of communities
around free and open source software. We will also look at how to assess
open source solutions that you may be considering.
Having attended this session, you will be able to answer the question:
"What is free and open source software, and how is it useful?"
You will understand the basic types of licence, and how to assess a
piece of free or open source software.
This webinar is aimed at both Software Developers and Software Users.
